Before you use the Exchange Database Agent in Database Availability Group (DAG) environments, you must configure a DAG client and select the appropriate server. The DAG client stores the configuration information for all of the member servers, and coordinates backup and restore operations for different servers. The DAG client is also referred to as a pseudo client or a master client.
Before You Begin
You must install the Exchange package and add the Exchange Database Agent on each member server using the fully qualified domain name.
Procedure

From the CommCell Browser, right-click Client Computers, and then click New Client > Application > Exchange DAG.
The Exchange DAG Client Creation dialog box appears.

Select the Active Directory domain name.

From the AD Domain Name list, select the appropriate Active Directory domain name.

Click Discover.

In the AD Domain Name box, type the Active Directory domain name.

Click Discover.
The AD Server Credentials dialog box appears.

Type the Active Directory credentials, and then click OK.

From the DAG Servers list, select the appropriate server.

From the Member Servers list, select the appropriate servers.

In the Client Name box, type a name.

Click OK.
The DAG client is created.

The Exchange Database agent is disabled on the physical nodes associated with a DAG client.
