You can recover a missing or corrupted datafile and tablespace.
By default, tablespaces and datafiles are restored to the original location from the latest online backup, but you can restore them to a new location.
You must place the datafiles and tablespaces that you want to restore offline, before you start the restore. The database can remain online, unless you restore Oracle SYSTEM tablespaces.
Note: If you want to perform an Oracle tablespace point-in-time recovery (TSPITR), read the Oracle documentation on the TSPITR restrictions and limitations. For more information, go to the Oracle documentation site, TSPITR Restrictions, Special Cases, and Limitations.
