Use this dialog box to select the options for Disaster Recovery (DR) Backup.
Full
Establishes the backup type as a Full backup.
Use this option to backup the entire CommServe database and the Windows registry entries created by the software.
Differential
Establishes the backup type as a Differential backup.
Use this option to backup data that has changed since the last full backup. This backup is smaller in size and takes less time to complete and can be used if there are limitations in disk space or network bandwidth.
Note
To restore data from this backup, the last full backup must be accessible.
Enable database(s) backup compression
Select this option to compress the database backup file (*.dmp). Selecting this option will only compress the backup file; it will not compress the database.
Compression saves disk space and transmission bandwidth for export and backup locations.
Note
Do not select this option for Microsoft SQL Server Express Editions which is installed with the CommvaultExpress Editions. For example, the Edge Express solution.
Select additional databases to backup
Select the additional database(s) to be included in the DR backup operations. The databases selected will be protected in addition to the CommServe database.
If the additional databases are not included in the DR backup, then during a CommServe failure, these databases are not available for recovery. We recommend that you do not exclude any database from the backup job.
