You can configure IntelliSnap backup operations to include Raw Device Maps (RDMs) and independent disks. After enabling support for RDMs or independent disks, you can perform an IntelliSnap backup or backup copy operation.
The following table identifies the required options for each type of RDM or independent disk:

Procedure

From the CommCell Browser, navigate to Client Computers > virtualization_client > Virtual Server > VMware.

Right click the subclient for which you want to enable backup operations for RDMs or independent disks, and select Properties.

Select the IntelliSnap Operations tab.

To include RDMs in physical or virtual compatibility mode for IntelliSnap backup jobs, select the Include Raw Device Maps option.
Clear the option to exclude RDMs from the backups.

To include independent disks in IntelliSnap backup jobs,select the Include Independent Disks option.
This option is required for independent VMDKs, RDMs in physical compatibility mode, and independent RDMs in virtual compatibility mode.
Clear the option to exclude independent disks from the backups.

Click OK.
