Full System Recovery: NAS NDMP Agent

Full system recovery of a NAS NDMP agent client includes the following phases:

Preparing for a Full System Recovery

Perform regular backups of the file system data. These backups can be scheduled to run at convenient intervals.

Recovering NAS Data to the Original NAS File Server

To recover NAS data to the original NAS file server, perform the following tasks:

1. Rebuilding the original NAS file server

2. Enabling NDMP on NetApp File Server

3. Recovering NAS data

   Perform a restore using the last valid full backup taken by the NAS Agent.

Recovering NAS Data to a New NAS File Server

To recover NAS data to a new NAS file server, perform the following tasks:

1. Configure a new NAS file server. Refer to the hardware vendor's documentation for step-by-step instructions.

2. Adding a new NAS client

3. Enabling NDMP on NetApp File Server

4. Recovering NAS data

   Perform a restore using the last valid full backup taken by the NAS Agent.
