Use this tab to provide the details for the Replication Set/Replication Policy.

Note that all the options described in this help may not be available and only the options displayed in the dialog box are applicable to the agent for which the information is being displayed.

Name

The name of the Replication Set/Replication Policy.

Destination Host

The destination machine for all Replication Pairs that comprise this Replication Set/Replication Sets created using this Replication Policy.

User Name

For CDR on Windows, a Windows User Account that is part of the Local Administrator group on the destination, with read/write permissions for the product installation folders on the destination. If the replication logs directory on the destination is not in the default location, then the User Name supplied here must also have read/write permissions for that directory as well.

Data Replication Type

Select the replication type for the replication sets/ replication sets created using this replication policy.

  • Continuous Replication

    Specifies that the replication set is used for continuous replication

    The following option is applicable only for Unix platforms.

    Preserve Write Order

    Select this option for database application. This option is enables the use of full data journaling necessary to preserve the consistency of the database during replication.

  • Scheduled Replication

    Specifies that the replication set is used for continuous replication

    The following options are applicable only for remote backup on Unix platforms.

    • Use Journaling

      Select this option to use the change journal for identifying the backup data. This option is enabled by default.

    • Create Snapshot

      Select this option to use snapshots for identifying the backup data. This option is enabled by default.

Description

Use this field to enter a description about the entity. You can include information such as the entity's content, and cautionary notes.
