Huawei HyperMetro cluster is an active-active storage solution that enables two storage systems to process services simultaneously. Deploying HyperMetro enables automatic switching between these two storage systems.
A HyperMetro pair is formed by one local array and one remote array. The Commvault software creates snapshots on both arrays of the HyperMetro pair, so if one array is not available, you can restore snapshots from the other side of the pair.
Considerations
-
You cannot run the snapshot revert operation in HyperMetro.
-
The subclient content cannot be a mix of HyperMetro volumes and non-HyperMetro volumes.
-
Sub-client content supports mixed configurations with optimized access paths to primary or secondary arrays of Metro cluster.
-
When the primary site is down, to perform the restore/backup copy operation, set the MediaAgent/backup copy proxy as the access node for the remote array. So that the restore/backup copy job uses the snapshots from the remote array.
Note
Huawei OceanStor Dorado V6 HyperMetro Cluster only supports VMware, Windows File System, and Unix File System agents.
