Microsoft SharePoint Server 2019

Microsoft SharePoint Server 2016
For SharePoint Document backup sets, only full backups are supported. Incremental backups are not supported because incremental export of the site content is failing. We opened a ticket with Microsoft to get this issue fixed. Ticket number is 116050914143126.
If you have to run incremental backups, you can upgrade to the SharePoint Server 2016 September cumulative update version.

To calculate the disk space requirements for the job results directory, see Job Results Directory Disk Space Calculation. |

When deciding on the required hard drive space for Search Service Application restore, consider the size of the index cache.
Also, allot an appropriate amount of temporary space in the job results folder to accommodate staging of the Site Collections and subsites:
-
For Databases, the job results folder size must be twice the size of the largest service applications database size.
-
For Documents, the job results folder size must be twice the size of the largest subsite.
-
For SharePoint Online, the job results folder size must be twice the size of the largest subsite.
Note
UNC paths are also supported for the job results folder by the SharePoint Server Agent.
When assigning UNC paths, the designated directory must be one level below the folder that is shared for this purpose.
Examples:
\\machine1\<share_name>\job_results\
is shared. Then specify \\machine1\<share_name>\job_results\job_results_1
as the job results directory.
\\machine1\<share_name>\job_results\
is shared. Then specifying \\machine1\<share_name>\job_results
as the job results directory is not supported.
Software That Is Automatically Installed
File System Agent
If not already installed, the Windows File System Agent or Linux File System Agent is installed. For more information, see the following:
Note
On Windows computers, to successfully restore NAS data and Domino emails on the web, install a 32-bit file system proxy instance on a 64-bit computer.
.NET Framework
On most versions of Windows, the .NET Framework 4.7 is automatically installed.
Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2017
Starting with Service Pack 18, Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2017 (vcredist2017.exe) is automatically installed.
If a computer does not have the most recent Windows updates, the installation of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2017 will fail in installing Universal C Runtime. The following Windows updates must be installed to prevent the installation failure. The updates are not required on the most recent Windows operating system versions, such as Microsoft Windows 10 and Microsoft Windows Server 2016, because these versions have the Universal C Runtime already installed.
