Create Automatic Labeling Schemes

From the CommCell Browser, right-click the appropriate library, and then click Properties.

Click the Media tab.

In the Barcode Labeling Scheme area, select the label, and then click Add Token.
The selected label appears in the box at the bottom of the region.

Click OK.

Add Media Identifiers (Stamp Media)

From the CommCell Browser, right-click the appropriate library, and then click Stamp Media.

In the Stamp Media dialog box, specify whether the labeling scheme should be used or enter the barcode number or a unique identifier for the media.

Click OK.
The media is listed in the Default Scratch pool.
Setup Automatic Checking of Media

From the CommCell Browser, right-click the appropriate library, and then click Properties.

Click the Drive tab.
-
Click Check for media change in drive every n minute(s) and specify the minutes.

Click OK.

Verify Media

From the CommCell Browser, right-click the media on the drive, and then click Verify Media.
The system verifies the media and then displays the media information in the Verify Media dialog box.

Click OK.

Enable Automatic Use of Spare Media from Different Scratch Pools

From the CommCell Browser, right-click the appropriate library, and then click Properties.

Click the Media tab.
-
Select Automatically use spare media from different scratch pool if found in drive.

Click OK.
Enable or Disable Unloading of Media from a Stand-Alone Drive When Different Media Are Required

To enable (or disable) unloading of media from a stand-alone drive when different media is required:

From the CommCell Browser, right-click the library for which you wish to enable or disable this option then click Properties.

Click the Media tab.
-
Select the Unload media in standalone drive when different media is required to enable the option, or clear the option to disable it.

Click OK to save the changes.
Enable Media Related Pop-Ups in the CommCell Console

From the CommCell Browser, right-click the appropriate library, and then click Properties.

Click the Media tab.
-
Click Show Media related pop-up messages on CommCell Console.

Click OK.

Modify the Unmount Time for Inactive Media in the Drive

To modify the unmount time for inactive media in the drive:

From the CommCell Browser, right-click the library for which you wish to modify the unmount time for inactive media in the drive, and then click Properties.

Click the Media Usage tab.

From the Unmount Media from the drive after (n) Minutes/Hours of inactivity box, type the unmount time that you wish to establish and then choose minutes or hours.

Click OK to save the changes.
Modify the Barcode and Location for Media Associated with a Stand-Alone Drive
Required Permissions:Permissions and Permitted Actions
To modify the barcode and location for a media associated with a stand-alone drive

From the CommCell Browser, click on Exported Media or Assigned Media group associated with a stand-alone drive in which the media is available. All the media existing in the stand-alone drive are displayed on the right-pane of the CommCell browser

Right-click the media for which you want to modify the properties, and then click Properties.

In the Barcode/ Identifier box, type a new barcode/identifier for the media.

In the Location box, type the location in which the media is stored.

Click OK to save the changes.
