You can upgrade the CommServe computer using one of the following methods, based on your requirement.
Important
-
After upgrading the CommServe computer to CPR 2023E (11.32) and above, existing HP-UX clients using Feature Release 11.20 may not be able to communicate with the CommServe computer. Therefore, before upgrading the CommServe computer to CPR 2023E or a later release, you must upgrade all HP-UX clients to Feature Release 11.24 or a later release. For information about end-of-life and deprecated platforms, see End-of-Life, Deprecated, and Extended Support for Platforms.
-
Upgrade the Web Server and Command Center if installed on different client computers, immediately after the CommServe upgrade. For more information, see Upgrading the Clients.
No separate upgrade is required if the Web Server and Command Center are installed on the CommServe computer itself.
Before You Begin
- If the existing installed version of MS SQL Server on the Microsoft Failover Cluster Manager is lower than MS SQL Server 2019 CU25, then you must manually upgrade MS SQL Server to at least MS SQL Server 2019 CU25 on all Active nodes and Passive nodes before performing the Commvault upgrade. To obtain the required SQL Server Standard Edition, use the Commvault Download Manager as per Downloading Software for Windows Computers Using the Download Manager, and follow Step 5 to include MS SQL Server.
