Use this dialog box to view the software version and verify the update status. Note that all the options described in this help may not be available and only the options displayed in the dialog box are applicable to the agent for which the information is being displayed.
Install Directory
Displays the directory path in which the software is currently installed on the client or MediaAgent computer.
Crypto Library Version
Displays the current version of the Crypto Library module.
Version Information
Displays the software component version (CommServe, MediaAgent, Client or Agent) installed on the computer. It also displays information on the post-release feature releases and/or additional updates installed on the selected client computer.
Update Status
Displays the update status for each client computer. The possible values and their descriptions are:

Unknown
Unable to determine the update status of the client. This could be due to the following reasons:

The client was uninstalled but it is still displayed in the CommCell Browser.

Internal error due to an invalid CommServe Cache status.

Up To Date
The feature release version installed on the client matches the software version available in the CommServe cache.

Needs Update
The feature release version installed on the client is lower than the software version available in the CommServe cache.

Ahead of Cache
The feature release version installed on the client is higher than the software version available in the CommServe cache.
Package
Displays the name of the packages installed on the client.
Status
Displays the update status for each package. Refer to the Update Status section.
Updates
Displays the feature release version installed on the client, as well as any additional updates that were installed after the feature release.
The feature release version includes a Build ID number, for example, SP6 (Build 414440). The Build ID helps you differentiate the different releases of the feature release version.
Update Information
Specifies the options for installing the updates.
This information is displayed only in the case of remote clients and/or remote MediaAgents. (A client/MediaAgent that is not installed on the CommServe computer)

Cache Source
This information is only displayed for client computers.

CommServe
The selected client receives its updates from the CommServe computer.

Software Cache
The selected client receives its updates from the specified client designated as the software cache computer.

Store Software Locally
When selected, indicates that the software (updates and packages) must be saved on the local computer, before they are installed. Use the space to type the location on the local computer in which the software must be stored, or click the Browse button to select the location on the local computer. When you select the option, make sure that there is adequate space for installing the necessary updates.
Client can download the software from Internet
Specifies the options for downloading software updates from the internet (that is, from Akamai), instead of from the CommServe computer or cache.
Note
If a download from the internet fails, the client will download the software from the CommServe computer or remote cache on the next attempt.

Downloads the software from the internet (that is, from Akamai).

Uses the cache source as configured.
