Adding an Access Node for S3 Compatible Storage

You can add an access node to protect your S3 compatible storage data.

Before You Begin

  • You need the following information:

    • Host name

    • User name and password

    • OS type

  • Ensure that the Cloud Apps package is installed on the access node for S3 compatible storage operations.

  • To create an S3 compatible instance, the access node must be at least 11.42.34 or above.

Procedure

  1. Click +.

    The Add an Access Node dialog box appears.

  2. Select one of the following installation methods:

    • To install software on the computer, click Install software packages on your computer, and then enter the following information:

      1. In the Host name box, enter the host name.

      2. Next to OS Type, click the operating system that is installed on the server.

      3. In Software cache box, enter the location for software cache.

      4. In the User name and Password boxes, enter the credentials for the server.

      5. In Confirm Password box, reenter the password.

      6. To enter the installation location, in the Installation location box, enter the path.

      7. To reboot the servers in the server group after the installation, move the Reboot if required toggle key to the right.

    • To complete an installation when the software is already installed on the server, click Complete the installation if the software packages are already installed on your computer, and then in the Host name box, enter the host name.

  3. Click Install.
