If the backup job for a VM group fails to back up some of the VMs/instances, either completely or partially, you can back up all those VMs/instances at one time, rather than restarting the individual failed backup jobs using the Backup Failed VMs option.
For information on understanding fatal errors, such as failed or skipped messages during VSA VM backup jobs, see Fatal Errors in VM Backup Processes.
Note
If a successful on-demand backup is runĀ for any of the failed VMs/instances after a Failed or Completed with errors job on the parent VM group, it will interfere with the Backup Failed VMs option, and the option will no longer be shown for the parent VM group.
You can also run this backup job from the specific hypervisor's VM groups list or job details page.
