Backing Up a Google Drive User or Shared Drive On Demand

You can back up a Google Drive user on demand.

Note

  • For shared drive backups, ensure that at least one user is associated with the shared drive. The associated users must have manager or content manager roles.

  • For suspended users, the Drive API can’t access Google file types such as Docs, Sheets, and Slides. These files are skipped in every backup job. When the user becomes active again, the files are included in the next backup job.

Procedure

  1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Google Workspace.

    The Google Workspace Overview page appears.

  2. On the Apps tab, click the Google Drive app.

    The Overview page of the app appears.

  3. On the Users tab, select a user or a shared drive, and then click Backup.

    The Backup options confirmation dialog box appears.

  4. Click SUBMIT.
