Configuring Backup Content for GitHub

You can add the content to back up.

Procedure

  1. From the Account type list, select either Personal or Business/Institution.

  2. Based on your selection in the Account type list:

  3. If you selected Business/Institution, enter the organization name.

  4. If you selected Personal, enter the account name.

  5. For Repositories, specify whether to back up all repositories or only the repositories that you select.

  6. If you chose Select repositories, do one of the following:

    • To browse and select specific repositories:

      1. Click Browse repositories.

      2. Select the repositories you want to back up from the list.

      3. Click Save.

    • To configure repository filtering rules:

      1. Click Configure filtering rules.

      2. Choose a rule type:

        • Prefix mode: Match repositories by starting characters

        • Pattern/substring mode: Match repositories containing specific text

      3. Configure your rule:

        • Prefix mode: Select character groups (A–Z, number, or special characters), and then click Get matching repository count.

        • Pattern/substring mode: Enter substrings, and then click Get Count.

      4. Review counts and adjust rules until they fit your requirements.

      5. Click Save.

      Note

      New repositories matching your saved rules are automatically included in future backups.
