Configuring the Dell EMC XtremIO Array Using Arrays Page

For IntelliSnap backups from Commvault software, add the Dell EMC XtremIO storage array and its configuration information to the CommServe database.

Before You Begin

  • If you use the iSCSI protocol, then place the host computer in the same subnet that the cluster’s iSCSI IP is in.

  • Do not use any special characters in the volume name.

  • The array name is case sensitive. Type the array name in the Name box exactly as it is in the Dell EMC XtremIO UI.

Start the Configuration Wizard

  1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Manage > Infrastructure.

    The Infrastructure page appears.

  2. Click Arrays.

  3. On the Arrays page, click Add.

    The General page of the Add Snap Array configuration wizard appears.

General

  1. From the Snap vendor list, select Dell EMC XtremIO.

  2. In the Array name box, enter the cluster name.

  3. In the Control host box, enter the IP address of the XtremIO Management Server (XMS) server.

  4. In the Description box, enter the description for the array.

  5. From the Saved credentials list, select the existing credentials or add new credentials you want to use.

    Steps to add new credentials

    To add credentials to the Credential Manager, click the plus button (+), and then specify the following in the Add Credential dialog box.

    1. In the Credential name box, enter the name of the credential.

    2. In the User account box, enter the name of the user account.

    3. In the Password box, enter the password.

    4. In the Description box, you can enter a description of the credentials.

    5. Click Save.

    Note

    Select or add the credentials of a user who has the Configuration role privileges.

  6. Click Next.

    The Array Access Nodes page of the configuration wizard appears.

Array Access Nodes

  1. To configure additional MediaAgents to perform operations on the storage array, from the Available MediaAgents list, select one or more access nodes and then click OK.

    • To select all the available MediaAgents as access nodes, click Select All.
  2. To disable pruning, move the Pruning toggle button of the respective access node to the left.

  3. To rearrange the selected access nodes, drag them upwards or downwards as required.

  4. Click Next.

    The Snap Configurations page of the configuration wizard appears.

  1. Configure Snapshot Configuration Properties according to your needs.

  2. Click Submit.
