Configuring a MySQL Database Instance on a Linux Client to Run Backup Operations Using the XtraBackup Utility

You can configure a MySQL database instance that runs on a Linux client to use the XtraBackup utility for backup operations.

Procedure

  1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.

    The database Overview tab appears.

  2. On the Instances tab, click the instance that you want to configure to use the XtraBackup utility.

    The instance Overview tab appears.

  3. On the General tile, click Edit.

    The Edit MySQL instance dialog box appears.

  4. Under Advanced options, move the Enable hot backup toggle key to the right.

  5. Select XtraBackup, and then enter the XtraBackup/MariaBackup binary path location.

  6. Click Update.
