Recovery targets specify details about the hypervisor that you replicate to and other replication settings.
Important
After you create the replication target, if you modify any of its settings, those changes apply only to new replication groups, not to existing replication groups.
Start the Replication Target Wizard
-
From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Auto recovery > Targets.
-
In the upper-right area of the page, click Add.
The Select vendor page appears.
-
Select Amazon Web Services.

General Page
-
In the Name box, enter a descriptive name for the destination site (for example, DR site 1).
-
From the Destination list, select a hypervisor for the destination instances.
-
From the Access node list, select an access node or an access node group to perform operations for the replication target.
For AWS to AWS restores, if you assigned an access node at the hypervisor and VM group levels, both the access nodes are used. For AWS restores, if you assigned an access node at the hypervisor level and the VM group level for both the source and the destination hypervisors, the access nodes assigned for the destination hypervisor are used.
To restore multiple instances simultaneously, select Automatic to distribute the workload (instances) in the auto recovery job across the access nodes that are assigned for the destination hypervisor. This option is available for operations both from streaming backups or IntelliSnap backup copies.
-
From the Security list, select the users and/or the user groups that should have access to the replication target.
-
For VM display name, select Use original name, Add a prefix to the VM name or Add a suffix to the VM name, and then enter a string that will be appended to source instances to create the display name for each destination instance.

From the Availability zone list, select the destination zone.

For Instance type, leave Automatic or to select a specific instance type that provides the available CPU cores and memory for the instance.
-
From Key Pair list, select a key pair to log on to the instance after the replication is complete.
-
From the IAM role for Amazon EC2 list, select the IAM role for destination instance.
-
For Network, click Browse, and then select a network interface for the destination instances.

-
Custom: Select a security group from the AWS account that you're recovering the instances to.
-
-
From the Volume type list, leave Auto selected or select a specific volume type for the replication target that is optimized for transactional or streaming workloads.
-
