Getting Started with Nutanix Files

Verify that your access node meets the hardware specifications and the environment meets the system requirements, complete the file server service catalog, and then perform a test backup and restore.

Procedure

1. Verify that your access node meets the hardware specifications to back up the CIFS shares and NFS exports.

2. Verify that your Nutanix file server to be backed up has Nutanix Files 3.5 or a more recent version installed.

3. To access the Nutanix Files server via CIFS, the access node requires the Windows File System software. Verify that your access node meets meets the system requirements for the Commvault Windows File System software.

4. To access the Nutanix Files server via NFS, the access node requires the Linux File System software. Verify that your access node meets the system requirements for the Linux file system.

5. Add Nutanix Files.

6. Perform a test backup and restore.

   • Perform a backup.

   • Perform a restore.
