HPE 3PAR StoreServ for snapshot storage

Commvault Cloud supports HPE 3PAR StoreServ for snapshot storage.

The following requirements and support apply to the following array types:

  • HPE 3PAR StoreServ

  • HPE GreenLake for block storage array

  • iSCSI: For HPE Alletra 9000 series, only supported for firmware versions 9.5.15 and more recent.

Requirements

Licenses

  • For all array and snapshot types: Virtual copy

  • For Thin provisioning a snapshot clone on HPE 3PAR StoreServ: Thin Provisioning (4096G)

Ports

Open port 5989 for HTTPS and port 5988 for HTTP between the Commvault Cloud control plane and the storage array and between the Backup Gateway and the storage array.

Snapshot names

HPE 3PAR StoreServ/Primera/HPE Alletra 9000 series/HPE Greenlake for block

  • Configuration: Default

  • Naming convention: SP_2_JobID_SnapID

    • SP_2: Constant value

    • Job ID: A unique ID assigned to each snapshot backup by the Commvault Cloud software.

    • SnapID: The snapshot ID created by the Commvault Cloud software.

  • Example: SP_2_1508_925
