Modifying the Configuration of a Virtual Machine

You can modify the configuration of a virtual machine to change the OS disk size, add data disks, adjust the memory, change the number of CPUs, and set the number of NICs.

Before You Begin

Power off the virtual machine.

Procedure

  1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Manage > VM Management.

    The VM Management page appears.

  2. Click the Virtual machines tile.

    The Virtual machines page appears.

  3. In the Name column, click the virtual machine that you want to modify the configuration.

    The virtual machine page appears.

  4. In the Summary section, click the Edit button action_button.

    The General page of the Edit Virtual Machine wizard appears.

  5. Go to the Resources page.

  6. Do any of the following:

    • To change OS disk size, click the Edit button action_button, in the Edit disk dialog box that opens, in the Size (GB) box, change the amount of size, and then click Save.

    • To add a data disk, click Add, in the Add disk dialog box that opens, in the Size (GB) box, enter the amount of size, and then click Save.

    • In the Memory box, change the amount of memory (in GB) for the virtual machine.

    • In the Number of CPUs box, change the number of CPUs for the virtual machine.

    • In the Number of NICs, change the number of NICs for the virtual machine.

  7. Go to the Summary page, and then click Submit.
