Perform a Test Backup and Restore of the Amazon RDS for SQL Server Instance

To verify that the Amazon RDS for SQL Server instance is set up correctly, perform a test backup and restore.

Back Up the Instance

1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.

   The Overview page appears.

2. On the Instances tab, in the row for the instance, click the action button , and then click Back up.

   The Backup options dialog box appears.

3. Click SUBMIT.

Restore the Instance

1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.

   The Overview page appears.

2. On the Instances tab, in the row for the instance, click the action button , and then click Restore.

   The Backup content dialog box appears.

3. Select the database to restore, and then click RESTORE.

   The Restore options dialog box appears.

4. Select In place, and then click SUBMIT.
