Restoring Lustre Data to Its Current Location (In Place)

You can restore Lustre data to its current location (in place).

Procedure

  1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Files.

    The Overview page appears.

  2. Go to the Files tab, and then click the file server.

    The file server page appears.

  3. On the Subclients tab, in the row for the subclient, click the action button action_button, and then click Restore.

    The Backup Content page appears.

  4. Choose the content that you want to restore.

    • To restore the contents of the entire backup set, select the check box next to Name.

    • To restore the contents of a subclient, select the appropriate subclient. You can select multiple subclients at the same time.

    • To restore particular files, expand the folder and then select the files.

  5. Click Restore.

    The Restore options dialog box appears.

  6. From the Destination list, choose the destination computer for the restore.

  7. Choose the restore location.

    • To restore to the original backup location, select the Restore to original folder check box.

    • To restore to a new location, clear the Restore to original folder check box, and then in the Destination path box, type the full path to the destination folder.

  8. To overwrite the existing data, select the Unconditionally overwrite if it already exists check box.

  9. Click Restore.

Restoring Lustre Data to a Different Folder or Server (Out of Place)

You can restore Lustre data to a different folder on the same file server or a different file server (out of place).

Procedure

  1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Files.

    The Overview page appears.

  2. Go to the Files tab and click the file server.

    The file server page appears.

  3. On the Subclients tab, in the row for the subclient, click the action button action_button, and then click Restore.

    The Backup Content page appears.

  4. Select the content that you want to restore, and then click Restore.

    The Restore options dialog box appears.

  5. To restore to a different server, from the Destination list, select the file server to restore the data to.

  6. To restore the ACLs, select the ACLs check box.

  7. To restore the data, select the Data check box.

  8. Clear the Restore to original folder check box.

  9. In the Destination box, enter the full path to the folder that you want to restore the data to.

  10. If the destination path is a UNC Path, then enable the Impersonate user slider, and then enter the user name and password required to access the UNC path.

  11. Click Submit.
