You can restore an Amazon Redshift cluster to a selected target availability zone in the different region and change the node type of the cluster during the restore.
You can restore an Amazon Redshift cluster from any of the following backups:

The most recent backup
-
A backup from a specified date and time
Before You Begin
- If the Redshift cluster is KMS encrypted, ensure that it meets the KMS Key Permission Requirements for Amazon Redshift.
Procedure

From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.
The database overview page appears.

On the Instances tab, from the list of Instances, select Cloud DB.
The Instances page for cloud databases appears.

In the Actions column for the instance, click the action button
, and then click Restore.
The Backup content page appears.

From the restore from copy list, select the secondary snapshot copy, and then click Ok. Based on the Mapping provided in the secondary snapshot copy, the region on the backup content page gets updated.

Select the backup to restore:

To restore the most recent backup, in the upper-right corner of the page, select Show latest backup.

To restore a backup from a specific date and time, in the upper-right corner of the page, select Show backup as of a specific date, and then select the backup.

To restore a backup from a date range, in the upper-right corner of the page, select Show backup for a date range, and then select the backup.

Click Restore.
The Restore options dialog box appears.

In the Cluster identifier box, type the identifier of the cluster that will be created from the snapshot. The identifier must not already exist within the region.

To make the instance accessible from the public internet, move the Public accessibility toggle key to the right.

Under Advanced, do the following:
-
From the Target availability zone list, select the availability zone that you want to create the instance in.

From the Node type list, select the node type to change the compute and memory capacity of the instance.

To define the subnet group, in the Subnet group box, type the subnet group name. Specifying a subnet group may limit the choice of availability zones.

To define the cluster parameter group, in the Cluster parameter group box, type the parameter group name.

To automatically upgrade to a newer version of cluster, move the Allow version upgrade toggle key to the right.

To define which subnets and IP ranges the cluster or instance can use in the Amazon virtual private cloud (VPC), in the VPC security group IDs box, enter the names of the security group ID.
You can add multiple security groups, separated by commas. For example, you can enter "sg-1122,sg-3344".

Optional: To receive an Email when the restore operation completes, select the When the job completes, notify me via email check box.

You can configure a schedule to repeat this restore operation. To create a schedule, do the following:

Click Schedule.
The Add schedule dialog box appears.

In the Name box, type a name for the schedule.

Configure the Frequency and Repeat parameters.
-
To specify exceptions to the schedule, click Exceptions.
The Exceptions dialog box appears.

Configure the exception parameters:

You can click Add Exception to save a set of exception parameters and continue adding sets of exception parameters.

Click Save when you have finished configuring the exception parameters.

Under the Range of recurrence section, specify the Start date and End date to schedule the recurrence range of the restore operation.

To save the schedule and return to the restore dialog box, click Schedule.

Click Submit.
The Confirm restore dialog box appears.

Click Yes.
