Restoring an Individual Gmail Mailbox Item to Its Original Location (In Place)

You can restore an individual Gmail mailbox item to the same location it was backed up from.

Start the Configuration Wizard

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Google Workspace.

    The Google Workspace Overview page appears.

  2. On the Apps tab, click the Gmail app.

    The Overview page of the app appears.

  3. On the Mailboxes tab, select the mailboxes that you want to restore.

  4. Click Restore > Restore messages.

    Backup content appears in a list format for the mailbox.

  5. From the list, expand the folders to locate the items (mails, contacts, and calendars) you want to restore, and then select the items.

    You can use the Search bar to filter mailbox contents and find the items you want restore.

  6. At the top area of the page, click Restore.

    The Destination page of the Restore Options configuration wizard appears.

  1. Under Gmail account, select Restore the data to its original location.

  2. Click NEXT.

    The Options page of the configuration wizard appears.

Options

  1. Beside If the message exists, specify what to do with existing items:

    • To not overwrite existing items, select Skip.

    • To overwrite existing items, select Unconditionally overwrite.

  2. To include deleted items in the restore, select Include deleted items.

  3. To exclude mail, contacts, or calendars from the restore, deselect any of the following as required:

    • Restore mail

    • Restore contacts

    • Restore calendars

  4. Click NEXT.

    The Review page of the configuration wizard appears.

Review

  1. Review the items you selected for restore.

  2. Click SUBMIT to start the restore operation.

    The Summary page of the configuration wizard appears.

Summary

  1. The Summary page displays the restore job details.

  2. Click CLOSE.
