You can view AGP bundled storage subscription usage for VM and containers in the AGP bundle for VM and Containers Usage Report. The report displays the peak front-end size for VM and containers data protected. The front-end size is the source data capacity before compression and deduplication.
A bundled storage license usage is based on the application size before deduplication and compression. For application-based backups, the license is calculated for both VM and database backups. The VM usage appears under the AGP bundle for VM and Containers Usage Report and the database usage appears under the AGP bundle for Databases Usage Report.
If the VM and containers data was protected for one or more days in the month, the data is counted as part of the peak front-end size for that month. The data is counted even if it is removed from a backup schedule or if backup data was deleted from the system. If the VM and container data is not backed up in the following months, it is not counted as part of subscription usage for those months.
Note
Currently, only primary copies are included in the bundled storage license calculation. SNAP copies and Secondary copies are excluded.
The bundle storage license is calculated based on the following scenarios:
-
All full backups along with other backup jobs (such as incremental).
-
Full backups and other backup jobs (such as incremental), without synthetic full backups.
-
No full backups, but includes other backup jobs (such as incremental), and only the largest synthetic full backup is considered.
