Testing a Failover

You can perform a test failover operation to validate failover operations for a replication group.

For Azure destinations, a test failover operation clones replicated VMs that are part of a failover group on the destination site.

Procedure

1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Auto recovery > Replication groups.

   The Replication groups page appears.

2. Click the replication group.

   The Overview page of the replication group appears.

3. In the upper-right area of the page, click the Failover button, and then select Test failover.

   The Test failover dialog box appears.

4. For warm site, from the Recovery point list, select a backup job from which you want to replicate the instance.

5. Click Yes.

Results

• Creates a Test failover VM.

• Synchronizes the VM.

• The VM is powered on.
