The Dell EMC TimeFinder VP Snap engine creates space-efficient clones. Multiple VP Snap clones can share the capacity allocation within a thin pool, which reduces the storage required for saved tracks.
Target Devices
Use the BCV+TDEV configuration for the volume type as target devices. To create VP Snaps with Dell EMC TimeFinder VP Snap engines, use target devices that have the same size, which is determined by the number of cylinders.
You can use the thin device (TDEV) configuration as target devices too. To use TDEVs as target devices, the devices should be part of the host device group and should be added as target devices with the -tgt option.
