Adding a CIFS or NFS Network Share Backup to a NAS Client

You can add a CIFS or NFS network share to a NAS client by adding an existing Windows File System Agent or UNIX File System Agent to the NAS client.

Before You Begin

You must have a Windows or UNIX client configured in your CommCell environment.

Procedure

  1. From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers.

  2. Right-click the NAS client, point to All Tasks, and then click Add Network Share Backup.

The Modify NAS/Network Share Client dialog box appears.

  3. In the Backup Type area, select the Network Share check box.

  4. Select the CIFS or NFS check box.

  5. Based on the protocol selected, select either CIFS or NFS access nodes to use for the file server.

    Note

If a client group is selected as an access node, ensure that each client in the group has connectivity to the array.

  6. To verify the connection between the array and access node, click Test connection. This option applies only to NetApp, Dell EMC Isilon, and Huawei.

  7. Click Ok.
