Adding Cryptocurrency Wallets to the Backup Content for Laptop Backup

You can add cryptocurrency desktop wallets to the backup content on Windows and Mac laptops. Commvault Cloud currently supports Bitcoin Core wallets.

You can back up Bitcoin Core wallet files(wallet.dat) in the data directory by using the moniker %CryptoWallet%.

The default location of the data directory for Bitcoin Core wallet is as follows:

• Windows: %APPDATA%\Bitcoin

• Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Bitcoin/

Procedure

1. From the CommCell Console, expand Client Computers > client > File System > backup_set.

2. Right-click the subclient and click Properties.

3. In the Subclient Properties dialog box, click the Content tab, and then click Add Paths.

4. In the Add Multiple Contents dialog box, type the moniker %CryptoWallet%.

   Example

   • Windows: \%CryptoWallet%

   • Mac: /%CryptoWallet%

   You can also type full path to the wallet file of the Bitcoin Core application.

5. Click OK.
