The Capacity dashboard is located in the CommCell Console in the Licensing and Registration dialog box. The dashboard provides a summary on the usage details for each of the capacity licenses. The usage is calculated based amount of data that has been protected.
You can save the report and use it for audit purposes. For example, when the capacity usage exceeds the available capacity, you can send the report file to your software provider to request a new license with an upgraded capacity.
Usage Totals
If a specific license (such as Commvault Complete) is applied to the CommServe computer, then the amount of license usage appears as the Licensed Total in the chart.
If a specific license (such as Commvault Complete) is not applied to the CommServe computer, then the software displays the potential amount of license usage, plus an additional 35% of usage. This potential usage amount appears as the Suggested Total in the chart.
