The Commvault Tomcat service is a web server that hosts several Commvault web applications. Like all web servers, the Tomcat service should be secured using a certificate that has been signed by a certificate authority (CA).
You can use the Commvault Certificate Tool to acquire a CA-signed certificate for your server and to configure the Commvault Tomcat service.
The Commvault Certificate Tool can perform the following tasks:
-
Generate a keystore containing a new key pair.
 -
Create a Certificate Signing Request (CSR) that can be provided to a Certificate Authority (CA).
 -
Import the CSR response into your keystore.
 -
Validate the keystore to check for common problems.
 -
Configure the Commvault Tomcat service to use your new keystore.
