Configure MySQL Instance to Enable Enterprise Backup

To run a MySQL Enterprise Backup using SBT, configure an existing MySQL instance.

Before You Begin

Disable proxy backup, IntelliSnap backup, Xtrabackup, or block level backup, if they are enabled.

From the CommCell Browser, navigate to Client Computers > client > MySQL.
Right-click the instance for which you want to enable Enterprise Backup, and then click Properties.

The Properties of MySQL Server dialog box appears.
Select the Enable hot backup check box.
Select Enterprise backup.
In the Enterprise backup bin path box, click Browse to select the MySQL utility files required to enable Enterprise Backup.
To avoid locking the non-InnoDB tables, select the No lock check box.
Click OK.

Note

To avoid inconsistencies in the non-InnoDB data, it is a best practice to lock the non-InnoDB tables while running a backup operation.
You cannot create a new subclient for an instance that has enterprise backup enabled.
