Configuring a NAS Client for Dell EMC VNX / Celerra

You must create a NAS client to perform archive operations.

Before You Begin

If you are not an administrator, the non-administrator user account must have read and write permissions on the file server.

Procedure

  1. On the CommCell Browser, right-click Client Computers, and then click New Client.

    The Add New Client dialog box appears.

  2. Under File System, click NAS/Network Share.

  3. Select the Network Share check box, and then select the Windows check box.

  4. In the Client Name box, enter the client name.

  5. In the Host Name box, enter the fully qualified Dell EMC VNX / Celerra server name/IP.

  6. On the NDMP Properties tab, specify the NDMP login credentials for the client computer:

    1. In the NDMP Server Hostname box, enter the fully qualified file server name/IP.

    2. In the NDMP Login box, enter the name of the NDMP user.

    3. In the NDMP Password box, enter the NDMP password.

    4. Click Detect.

    5. Click OK.

  7. On the Recall Configuration tab, in the Offline Recall Path box, specify the URL of the machine that has webconsole installed on it and is registered to the Celerra file server.

  8. In the NAS HTTP Port No: box, accept the default port number.

  9. Click OK.

    A pseudo NAS client is created on the CommCell Console.
