Deleting Backup Data and Archive Data Using the DeleteDataFromBackup Workflow

You can use the DeleteDataFromBackup workflow to delete backed up files and folder using filters.

Note

This workflow cannot be used for CommCell environments that use Indexing Version 1.

Before You Begin

Procedure

  1. From the CommCell Browser, in Workflows, right-click DeleteDataFromBackup, point to All Tasks, and then click Execute.

    The DeleteDataFromBackup Options dialog box appears.

  2. Click the Run workflow on list, and then select the Workflow Engine that you want to use to perform the workflow.

  3. In Client Group, select the client group that you want to perform the delete data operation on.

  4. In File Filters, enter search criteria for the files and folders you want to delete. Wildcards are supported.

  5. In Folder Path, enter paths or relative paths for the files and folders you want to delete. Wildcards are supported. Enter multiple folder paths by separating each with a comma (,).

  6. In Enter Subclient Names, enter the subclients that you want to perform the delete operation on. Enter multiple subclients by separating each with a comma (,). If no subclients are specified, the delete operation will be performed on all subclients.

  7. In Mode, select one of the following options:

    • Find: Finds (but does not delete) the backed up files and folders. Results are saved to the following file: C:\temp\CLIENT_BACKUPSET_SUBCLIENT.xml.

    • Delete: Deletes the backed up files and folders.

  8. Select the Allow regex in folder path for Delete mode option if you use regex in folder path for delete operation.

  9. Click OK.
