Effective Release
Commvault Long-Term Support Release 11.40 (June 15, 2025)
Effect of Deprecation
New installations and upgrades are not supported in this release. Client computers with the CDR Agent installed on previous releases cannot be upgraded to this release. The CDR Agent must be uninstalled before the upgrade can proceed.
Migration from CDR to Auto Recovery Replication for File System Agents
CDR users must migrate to File System replication using the following procedure:
-
Stop CDR Replication
- Stop all pairs in each RepSet.
-
Configure File System Backups
-
If the File System Agent is not already configured, reconfigure the File System Agent.
CDR replicates to the destination with a default threshold of 15 minutes. Adjust the backup schedule for File System replication to meet your required RPO.
-
-
Run File System Backups
- Run a backup on the subclients configured in the previous step. Wait for the backup to complete before proceeding.
-
Configure Replication
-
Create a separate Auto Recovery group for each CDR pair.
-
Since CDR replicates ACLs, the Restore both data and ACLs option must be enabled under the Advanced Options group on the target page.
-
-
Clean Up CDR Artifacts
- Delete the RepSet after all pairs have been migrated. This operation does not affect the replicated data.
