Disabling the Oracle Switch Datafile Command

By default, during a redirected restore, the Commvault software issues the Oracle switch datafiles command.

You must disable the Oracle switch datafile command:

• When you perform an out-of-place (redirected) restore

• When you do not want to update the control file with the restore

Procedure

1. From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers.

2. Right-click the client, and click Properties.

3. On the Properties dialog box, click the Advanced button.

4. On the Additional Settings tab of the Advanced Properties dialog box click Add.

5. In the Add Additional Setting dialog box:

   1. In the Name box, type sORADISABLE_SWITCH_DATAFILE.

   2. In the Category box, type OracleAgent.

   3. In the Type box, select String.

   4. In the Value box, enter Y.

   5. Click OK to close the Add Additional Setting dialog box.

6. Click OK to close the Advanced Properties dialog box.
