You can back up global objects (such as roles) in a PostgreSQL database. To back up global objects, the Commvault software uses the pg_dumpall
utility with -c, -g, --no-role-passwords,
and -s
options as per the requirement.
Before You Begin
The global objects dump is supported only for clients using indexing. For PostgreSQL agents, this is enabled by default for newly installed clients in Feature Release 11.30 and more recent versions.
Procedure
- From the CommCell Browser, go to Client Computers > client > PostgreSQL > instance.
- Right-click the DumpBasedBackupSet, and then click Properties.
The Backup Set Properties dialog box appears. 3. Select the Backup global objects check box. 4. Click OK.
