Getting Started with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure File Storage

Getting started with protecting Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) File Storage data includes installing Linux file system agent, configuring a storage device, a storage policy, creating a network share client and then performing a test backup and restore.

Procedure

  1. Verify that your environment meets the system requirements for the Unix/Linux proxy client.

  2. Install the Linux File System Agent on an OCI instance or on an on-premise Linux computer.

  3. (Optional) Mount the OCI File Storage NFS export to back it up.

    • To mount the NFS export on the Linux computer, you can use the mount path.

    • To skip mounting the OCI File Storage export manually, use the automount feature.

  4. Add the Network Share Client for OCI File Storage.

  5. Create a NFS subclient.

  6. Perform a test backup and restore.
