Installing Maintenance Releases on UNIX, Linux, or Macintosh Computers Using the Installation Package

If a platform release (formerly "feature release") is already installed and a maintenance release is made available after the platform release, you can download the maintenance release and then install it manually.

Before You Begin

Allow the Commvault installer package on the Linux computer.

Procedure

  1. Go to the Commvault Store on the Cloud Services website.

  2. From the navigation pane on the left, click Media Kits and then download the maintenance release that you need. To locate all the available maintenance releases, type hotfix in the search bar. For more information about downloading software from the cloud, see Downloading Installation Media.

  3. After the download, copy the TAR file to a dedicated folder and then extract the TAR file contents.

  4. Log on as the root user.

  5. Change the permission of the InstallUpdate file to provide execute permissions to the root user.

  6. Do one of the following:

    • Run the installation from the installation package, as follows:

      ./InstallUpdates

    • Run the installation as a SUDO user with root privileges, as follows:

      sudo ./InstallUpdates

    The Summary dialog box appears.

  7. Click Next.

After the maintenance release installation completes, the Installation Status dialog box appears.

  8. Click Finish.
