You can migrate on-premise SharePoint documents to an Office 365 site. Mine the content database to select a document library that can be migrated to SharePoint online.
Migration of data from SharePoint 2013 and SharePoint 2016 to Office 365 site is supported.
Note
If you want to restore a particular document, then select the list that contains the items.
Prerequisites
Verify that the following steps are complete before migrating documents to an Office 365 site:

Verify that the source computer has SharePoint applications installed, and you are able to browse the local farm.

From the SharePoint Server Agent Base directory, install the SharePoint Online Management Shell. The Base directory path is C:\Program Files\Commvault\ContentStore\Base\spoms.msi.

Install the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.2, and PowerShell 3.0.

Execute the following command from the <Software_Installation_Directory>/Base folder on the computer where SharePoint Agent is installed, and run the following command:
CVSPWebPartInstallerLauncher.exe /registerassemblies -vm Instance001 -
Create an Office 365 backup set on the SharePoint Server.

Create a text file and map the SharePoint domain user to an Office 365 user in the following format:
[SHAREPOINT\system]mappingto[xxxx@xxxx.onmicrosoft.com]
Procedure
To migrate on-premise SharePoint documents to an Office 365 site, complete the following steps:

From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers > client > SharePoint Server.

Right click an Office365 backup set, point to All Tasks, and then click Office365 Migration.
The Browse and Restore Options dialog box appears.

Complete the following steps to browse the content database:

Browse and select the SQL Instance that has the content database attached to it.
If you are browsing from a remote server, type a name for SQL Instance.

Browse and select the Content Database that has to be mined.
If you are browsing from a remote server, type a name for Content Database.

Click View Content.

Select the libraries, or lists, that you want to restore, and then click Recover All Selected.
The Restore Options for All Selected Items dialog box appears.

In the Specify destination path box, type or browse to the location where you want to restore the documents.

Select the Office365 Migration User Mapping check box, and type or browse to the user mapping text file.

Click OK.
