To move stubs (archived files) from one location to another location, you must perform a browse and restore operation of the stubs.
Caution

Do not perform a regular copy and paste operation or use Robo copy to move or copy stubs because the stubs lose their attributes during the process, thereby leading to stub recall failure.

After you migrate stubs, do not delete the source client. Deleting the source client will cause data loss and dangling stubs.
Before You Begin
Review the table to see if cross platform stub restores and recalls are supported for your source and destination computer. For more information, see Cross Platform Stub Restores and Recalls.
Procedure

From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers > client > File System > archive_set.

Right-click the subclient, and then click Browse and Restore.
The Browse and Restore Options dialog box appears.

Click View Content.

On the Browse page, select the files or folders that you want to restore.

Click Recover All Selected.
The Restore Options for All Selected Items dialog box appears.

To prevent the existing files from being overwritten, clear the Overwrite Files and Restore to Same Folder check boxes.

Select the Impersonate User check box, and then enter the same credentials that you provided when you created your subclient.

In the Destination Client list, select the client computer to which you want to restore the stubs.

To restore stubs to another file server, click the Browse button specify the destination path.

To further customize the restore operation, click Advanced.
