MongoDB (Infrastructure)

The Commvault Content Store uses the MongoDB database engine to provide a subset of its functionality. MongoDB is installed along with some Commvault packages. Verify that your environment meets the system requirements for MongoDB.

Supported Packages

MongoDB is supported by the following Commvault packages:

  • CommServe

  • Web Server

Supported Versions

Commvault installs the following versions of MongoDB Community Edition on Windows and Linux computers:

  • MongoDB 8.0 is not supported for the following systems (in these cases, MongoDB 7.0 is the highest supported version):

    • Windows 2019 and earlier

    • RHEL 7.0 and earlier

    • RHEL 8.7 and earlier

    • RHEL 9.2 and earlier

  • Instruction set BMI2 (Bit manipulation instruction) is required.

MongoDB 7.0 is not supported for Windows 2016. In this case, MongoDB 6.0.14 is installed.

11.32 (Commvault Platform Release 2023E)

MongoDB 6.0 is not supported for the following systems (in these cases, MongoDB 4.2.20 is installed):

  • Windows 2012.

  • A computer that uses a processor that doesn't have the AVX instruction set enabled.
