OpenVMS File System Agent: System Requirements

Verify that your environment meets the system requirements for the OpenVMS file system.

Operating System

Important

Use the most recent version of the operating system that is listed. The Commvault software fully supports the most recent version of an operating system, until the vendor ends support. More recent versions of the Commvault software might not install on operating systems that are not supported by the vendor anymore. For information about the support lifecycle of an operating system, contact the vendor.

Firewall

If you use TCP/IP communication between the access node and the OpenVMS clients, then the following requirements apply:

  • The firewall configuration on the access node must include settings to accept a communication request from a client that uses the selected TCP/IP port range. For information about how to set the ports, see Controlling the Ports for IBM i or OpenVMS File System Clients.

  • The firewall configuration on the client must include settings to accept a communication from a access node that uses port 9401 (or the TCP/IP port number configured that is configured for the proxy).

  • The firewall configuration on the access node and the client must not restrict communication on established connections in both directions. For information on how to configure a firewall between the client and the access node, see Network Routes.

File System

The following file systems are supported:

  • On-Disk Structure 2 File System (ODS-2)
