Applies To: Hitachi NAS (VSP One File), Dell EMC VNX / Celerra/Unity/PowerStore
Use this option to perform a backup from the snapshot created by the file server. This feature is useful to back up a copy of the file system which will not change during the backup.
Notes

To use this option for Dell EMC VNX / Celerra, the Dell EMC VNX / Celerra SnapSure Snap engine must be enabled on the file system.

NetApp file servers do not have this option because they always backup from a snapshot.
Procedure

From the CommCell Browser, go to client > NDMP > defaultBackupSet.

In the right pane, right-click the subclient, and then click Backup.
The Backup Options dialog box appears.

On the Backup Options tab, click Advanced.
The Advanced Backup Options dialog box appears.

On NAS Options tab, select the Back up from Snapshot check box, and then click OK.

Select the backup type and schedule.

Click OK.
