REP0001: No Data Appears in Reports on an Private Metrics Reporting Server with MS SQL Server 2012

If SQL Server cannot connect to the CVCloud database, you might not be able to see data in reports on Web Console with Private Metrics Reporting Server.

Symptom

No data appears for reports that are hosted by a Private Metrics Reporting Server installed with Microsoft SQL Server 2012.

Cause

A Private Metrics Reporting Server installed with SQL Server 2012 fails to connect to the CVCloud database. In SQL Server 2012, the built-in NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM account no longer has the sysadmin privilege by default. SQL Server 2012 introduced an additional per-service SID (Security Identifier) for the Microsoft VSS writer and WMI services with a sysadmin role.

Resolution

Add sysadmin privileges to the Local System account.
