Restoring the Index Server to the Same Location

You can restore the Index Server to the same location if the index became corrupted or was deleted.

Procedure

  1. Stop the services on all index server nodes.

    To see the nodes for an Index Server client, go to Nodes tab in the client properties dialog box.

  2. Do either of the following:

    • If the index was corrupted, delete all the existing files from the index directory.

    • If the index directory was deleted, create a new directory with the same name that the index had before it was deleted.

  3. Restart the services on the index server nodes.

  4. In the CommCell Browser, go to Client Computer Groups > Index Servers > index_server > Big Data Apps > dynamicIndexInstance.

  5. Right-click the subclient, and then click Browse and Restore.

    The Browse and Restore Options dialog box appears.

  6. Click View Content.

  7. In the left pane, go to dynamicIndexInstance > role.

    For example, to restore nodes for the Exchange index, go to the Exchange Index role.

  8. Click the nodes that you want to restore.

    The data that will be restored appears in the right pane.

  9. Click Recover All Selected.

    The Restore Options for All Selected Items dialog box appears.

  10. From the Destination client list, select the index server.

  11. Click OK.
