Setting Up a DB2 Database for Replication

Set up the DB2 source and destination databases so that you can perform the replication operation.

Before You Begin

  • The source and destination databases must run the same version of DB2.

  • The Commvault installation directory paths must be the same on both the source and destination computers. Both computers must have the Commvault software installed.

  • Best Practice: Configure both the source and destination databases with the TRACKMOD configuration parameter set to YES or ON.

Procedure

  1. Install the DB2 agent on Windows or UNIX on the destination database host.

For more information, see Getting Started with the DB2 Agent.

  2. Create a backup set on the source instance.

  3. Perform a full backup on the source database.
