By default, backups and restores for FusionCompute use local area network (LAN) transport.
SAN Transport
To perform backups and restores using SAN transport, note the following requirements:
-
Use storage LUNs on Huawei storage arrays such as OceanStor.
-
Use a VSA proxy running on a Linux VM.
-
Map LUNs to the Linux VSA proxy.
-
For restores to a SAN datastore, the Linux proxy must have write access.
-
When restoring a full VM, use Common disk provisioning.
For iSCSI SAN, the Linux proxy must have rescan-scsi-bus.sh under /usr/bin. If not, install sg3_utils.
Note
Huawei deprecated support for SAN transport mode after the 5.x release of FusionCompute.
