Using a Separate Proxy for Backup Copy

A backup copy operation copies backup data to any media. You can specify a proxy computer to use for mounting the snapshot.

Procedure

1. From the CommCell Browser, navigate to Client Computers > virtualization_client > VMware > backup_set.

2. Right click the subclient configured for IntelliSnap backup and select Properties.

   The Subclient Properties dialog box appears.

3. On the IntelliSnap Operations tab, select the Use Separate Proxy for Backup Copy check box.

4. Select a proxy computer from the Proxy list.

   The Proxy list displays machines where the Virtual Server Agent and MediaAgent are installed.

5. Click OK.

The snapshot is mounted on the specified proxy when you perform the backup copy operation.
